THE OTHER WAY
THE OTHER WAY is a gritty thriller in the film noir tradition set in Hollywood and Mexico.
Nick Dryden is a down on his luck Actor/Musician who owes just about everyone money, including Fat Joe, a small time loan shark who threatens to castrate Nick if he doesn't repay him by the end of the week.
With nowhere to turn, Nick approaches his only living relative his brother Jake, a renowned hitman. Disgusted by his brother’s laissez-faire lifestyle, Jake refuses to help Nick. But once Nick “steals” Maria, a Latin beauty he finds chained in the back of Jake’s house, Jake eventually acquiesces and offers his brother a deal: In exchange for the return of Maria, he’ll sponsor Nick at The Agency and teach him how to earn fast money his way
After completing his first assignment, the killing of a Mafia Chieftain, Nick learns that Jake has betrayed him, and is keeping all the money from the hit for himself. This leaves Nick and Maria on the run from Fat Joe, Aleksandr, a psychotic Russian hitman, and El Patron, a Mexican slave-trader who believes he’s Maria’s rightful owner.
Nick returns to The Agency for a final contract. To his dismay, he’s asked to execute his brother who has now gone rouge and is about to fly off into self-imposed retirement.
As Nick decides whether or not to kill his own brother, Maria is again stolen, this time by El Patron and taken back to Mexico.
Finally unable to continue as a killer, Nick reverts to something he's more comfortable with: acting. He decides to play the greatest role of his life and becomes his brother Jake. He shaves off his hair, and polishes Jake’s guns. With new skills, Nick playing his brother, finally
heads to Mexico to save the woman he has come to love.
